The shower screen is removed along with the existing floor tiles and one row of wall tiles. The area is then waterproofed, re-tiled, and grouted. After that, the shower screen is reinstalled and the area is neatly caulked.

STEP 1
Remove Shower Screen
The shower screen is carefully removed and set aside for reinstallation after the waterproofing work is complete
STEP 2
Remove Tiles
Remove tiles one row high and the entire floor, being careful not to damage the screed if it is in good condition.
STEP 3
Prime the Surface
The exposed screed surface is primed to ensure the waterproofing membrane bonds correctly and performs at its best.
STEP 4
Waterproofing First Coat
Tank'd L.A.P (Liquid Applied Polyurethane) – Grey. Applied on top of the screed to ensure water that gets through the grout will drain away, not sit in the screed.
STEP 5
Waterproofing Second Coat
Tank'd L.A.P Purple — a second full coat applied for complete, reliable waterproofing coverage across the entire floor and up the wall.
STEP 6
Install New Tiles
New tiles are installed with as close a match as possible to the existing bathroom tiles, creating a seamless and professional result.
STEP 7
Grout
All tile joints are grouted to match, finishing the floor and wall tiles to a clean, seamless standard.
STEP 8
Reinstall Shower Screen
The existing shower screen is reinstalled where possible, completing the shower and returning it to full use
Why It Works
Correct Fall — The Key Detail
The new waterproofing membrane is installed directly over the existing screed, with proper fall incorporated toward the drain. This allows any water that penetrates the grout to flow toward the drain, rather than pooling in the screed — helping to prevent mould, dampness, and long-term water damage.
