This process usually only requires the floor and 1 row of tiles to be removed and re-laid. However, in this project the owner decided to have the walls done as well — so the whole recess received the 25-year treatment.

STEP 1

Remove Shower Screen and Tiles

The shower screen and all tiles are removed to expose the substrate. The full recess is opened up ready for the new system.

STEP 2

Run the Tank'd L.L.L Liner

The Tank'd Loose Laid Liner is run into the new opening — a continuous sheet with no seams, lining the entire recess like a pool liner.

STEP 3

Install Cement Sheeting on the Vertical

Cement sheeting is installed on the vertical walls over the liner, creating a solid, moisture-resistant substrate for tiling.

STEP 4

Screed

Screed is installed over the liner on the floor with correct fall toward the drain, ensuring water always moves in the right direction.

STEP 5

Prime All Surfaces — Wall and Floor

All surfaces, walls and floor, are primed to ensure the waterproofing membrane bonds correctly and achieves full coverage.

STEP 6

First Coat — Tank'd L.A.P Grey

First coat of Tank'd L.A.P (Liquid Applied Polyurethane) in Grey applied across walls and floor for the primary waterproofing layer.

STEP 7

Second Coat — Tank'd L.A.P Purple

Second coat of Tank'd L.A.P in Purple confirms full coverage with no missed spots and completes the dual-layer membrane system.

STEP 8

Tile Walls and Floor

Walls and floor are tiled using the closest match tiles available, delivering a clean and professional finish throughout the recess.

STEP 9

Grout

All tile joints are grouted to match, sealing the surface and completing the tiling to a high standard.

STEP 10

Reinstall Screen, Shower Head and Taps

The shower screen, shower head, and taps are all reinstalled and ready to use after 24 hours — job complete.
